An exploration into the integration of digital technologies and media into the classroom shows the potential issues and benefits, along with the implications for art-making, viewing, and interpreting as a result of the ever-expanding world of technology. Resources and programs such as Prezi, Wikis, Second Life, YouTube, Final Cut, Junkyard Jumbotron, and Photoshop, can be utilized to inform teaching practices in art education so that future learners can be better engaged, and more prepared for the technology-saturated workforce.

DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY

Tech Education & STEAM

I am a firm believer in the STEAM philosophy. My own work as an artist has proven that Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math are all related. My own sculptural work would not be possible without my background in technology education. This fact leads me to pursue research in 3D printing, CAD, and more, while working with tech educators to bring classes together.

We are so fortunate at Collegium Charter School to have the brand new STEAM Center open for the 2014 school year! 7th and 8th grade art classes will be able to take advantage of this wonderful addition to CCS in the fall.

Welcome to Collegium Charter Middle School's digital art studio!
