Ms. Bongiorno's Artist Statement

 

Art is more than just a final product.

​

From personal experience, it is the immersion of self into a process. The outcome, is simply a part of the whole. Perhaps it is my own neurotic tendencies that lead me to prefer perfection, but whatever the reason, I have always valued craftsmanship. This appreciation for process and product causes somewhat of an internal struggle in my art-making. Nevertheless, this informs my creative process, and has done so for years.

For me, art is therapeutic. I am able to relate and reflect on every aspect in my life through this single avenue. That is power, and that is worth pursuing.
